Scope and Content This is a view of the site of Castledownie which lies between Navity and Eathie Mains on the south-eastern shore of the Black Isle. It's in the record as a possible promontory fort, dun or mediaeval castle, but is 'in too poor a state to classify' and there is no trace of a mediaeval castle on the site today. The site is protected by a natural slope on the NW and this can be seen in the photograph but the site itself is difficult to identify. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
