Plan of Laggantuin township
GV 008072
Description Plan of Laggantuin township
Date 8/2020
Collection Historic Environment Scotland
Catalogue Number GV 008072
Category Digital Files (Non-image)
Scope and Content The archaeological plan of Laggantuin township was developed using a variety of sources that included HES dGPS survey data and UAV photography, as well as airborne laser scan (ALS) data (from Scottish Public Sector LiDAR (Phase II) data*. In addition, colour orthophotographs taken in 2004 and 2010 (supplied by Getmapping), historic maps and documentary sources were consulted. The plan has been archived as a Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file and as a layered PDF, which includes a steepness of slope background and contours. The accompanying site description (which references letters marked on the plan) and site photographs have been entered in to the NRHE. *The data was commissioned by the Scottish Government, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) and licensed under the Non-Commercial Government Licence v2.0. It was then processed by Žiga Kokalj (Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts) from LAS files to generate a digital terrain model (DTM) with 0.5 m spatial resolution. This was used to produce DTM visualisations using the Relief Visualisation Toolbox (https://iaps.zrc-sazu.si/en/rvt#v).
