Scope and Content This image shows Barmekin hillfort, two kilometres NW of Echt, with Culfosie Farm on the R of the photo. Barmekin is an incomplete multivallate hillfort on the summit of a rounded hill, comprising five concentric ramparts. The three outermost ramparts appear as earth and rubble banks, whereas the two innermost are of drystone walling.
