Scope and Content Great Glen House, the headquarters of SNH and the Deer Commission, was built as an environmentally sustainable structure on the former Nurses' home of Craig Dunain Psychiatric hospital. Building work was completed in June 2006, though as can be seen in this photo, landscaping work to create a pond below the car park was still being completed at the time of this image. Also seen is part of the former Craig Dunain Hospital, before conversion to housing. Also visible are parts of its replacement (to the N, bottom R of image), the New Craigs hospital. Part of the Great Glen Way walking route, opened in 2002, runs to the right of Great Glen House on its way towards Drumnadrochit. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
