Scope and Content In the lower centre of the photo can be seen a group of round and square barrows under snow at Garbeg, all believed to date to the Pictish period, following excavations by Laurie Wedderburn and the previous recovery of a Pictish symbol from the top of one of the barrows. Field clearance cairns and sinuous field boundaries can also be seen but it is not known how they relate to the barrow cemetery.
