Scope and Content In February 1989 the vaulted 19C stone railway bridge across the Ness River in the centre of Inverness was swept away in floods. This view shows a new bridge being prepared. It also shows Friars and Waterloo Bridges. The latter was previously known as the Black Bridge. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
