Scope and Content Skibo Castle, a large Scottish Baronial style mansion, is on the site of an earlier building 1st mentioned in 1211 and used as a Bishop's residence. It was much altered and renovated over time until 1895 when it was bought by Andrew Carnegie and rebuilt. It is now (2021) a luxury hotel. The gardens and terraces were designed by Thomas Mawson in 1904. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
