Scope and Content A close view with Chapleton School top left. In the fields below and to the right of the school are a number of clearance cairns, fragmentary banks and walls from a former field system and to the left of centre, the nearest clump of trees (since removed) to the road is within a probable bronze or iron age roundhouse. Some of the other wall fragments may be the remains of other roundhouses, especially just below the school entrance on the left of the road, and also back across the road just above the red warning strip of tarmac.
