Scope and Content Since the photo was taken the junction was replaced with a roundabout in 2004. A watching brief revealed tile and stone field drains. There is a Canmore reference to a 20c brick-built pillbox used to guard the A96 approach to Inverness. It lies beside the old A96 road bridge over the Inverness- Aberdeen railway line at the top of the photo. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
