Scope and Content The Canal runs across the centre of the photo. Dochgarroch Lock is in the centre, a standard masonry-walled Caledonian Canal lock. The canal was completed by Telford in 1822. There is a canal keeper's house on the far side and canal worker's cottage, shown on the Ist edition OS. The River Ness is in the foreground.
