Scope and Content This photo of the eastern section of the General Wade's Military Road over the Corrieyairack pass shows the series of 12 hairpin bends as the road rises to the highest point between Laggan and Fort Augustus. It was constructed by General Wade and a team of soldiers in 1731. There are several bridges attributed to Wade. It is now a scheduled monument.
