Scope and Content The large West pier is in the centre. Beside it is the East pier, both of which are shown on the 1st Edition OS. They are situated at the S end of the Caledonian canal where it enters Loch Lochy. There is a reference to the bridge at the canal entrance. There is an early C19 lock-keeper's cottage on the left (W) side of the canal, now listed. On the E side is a bothy or store, where there is the original lamp housing for signalling to boats.
