Scope and Content The Kessock Bridge was opened in 1982 as part of the realignment of the A9 and by taking the trunk road by a more direct route over the Black Isle, the journey north was cut by 14 miles. It replaced the Kessock Ferry which had operated between South Kessock and North Kessock on the Black Isle from the C15 at least. On the left is Craigton Point and North Kessock. Tulloch Caledonian Stadium is at top right. This was opened in 1996, providing modern facilities for Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC which was formed by amalgamating Inverness Thistle FC and Inverness Caledonian FC in 1994. The mouth of the River Ness with its harbour can be seen at bottom right. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
