An oblique aerial view of the Torrish Burn, Strath of Kildonan, East Sutherland, looking NNW.

SC 1896330

Description An oblique aerial view of the Torrish Burn, Strath of Kildonan, East Sutherland, looking NNW.

Date 1998

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number SC 1896330

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content A close view of the Torrish Burn passing under the A 897 with a recorded kerb cairn on the hillside upper left. An unrecorded older bridge lies above the current one and there appear to be circular and rectangular structures within the strip of ground adjacent to the burn lower left. The straight lines of shadow just below and to the right of centre look like the remains of at least one long house and enclosure but the site is now a lorry park! Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
