Date 1998

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Scope and Content The area in the image is at the S end of The Ord, an extensive Scheduled Monument comprising chambered cairns, cairns, settlements and field systems, including numerous hut circles. The two prominent features in this image are (1) a horseshoe-shaped feature which does not seem to have been recorded, and does not match the description of a hut circle, MHG33767, nearby; and (b) the stone and turf dyke at upper left corner, bordering a large enclosure. Extensive areas of rig and furrow are visible. The lower edge of the image is bordered by the A839 road. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
