Scope and Content General oblique aerial view from north of Seaton, Aberdeen This development was built in stages 1969-72. Area 'A', St Ninians Place consists of four 17-storeyed blocks, Areas 'B', 'C' and 'D' consist of three ten-storeyed blocks, and Phase Two of seven, 19-storeyed blocks, all using the 'Bison' pre-cast system. This oblique aerial view shows part of the development of tower blocks surrounded by low-rise blocks, terraces and detached houses. The largest blocks have dark cladding panels forming vertical strips, which emphasise their height. The British 'Bison' system uses large pre-cast panels and floor slabs. It is a flexible system which can be adapted to create various types and sizes of building. It incorporates specialised units such as staircases and a pre-assembled bathroom unit.
