Scope and Content Muir of Ord was developed after the opening of the Inverness-Dingwall railway in 1863. The Mansefield Showground is in the foreground. It's on this site that the Black Isle Show is held every August. Muir of Ord Golf Course is at lower left. This was opened as a 9-hole course in 1883 and extended to 18 holes in 1927.
