Scope and Content Loch Ness Golf Course at Fairways opened in 1996 and this view, taken 2 years earlier, shows the course under construction. There are the remains of a motte at Castle Heather, in the line of trees dividing the two areas marked out as fairways. Lochs Ashie and Ness can be seen at top of photo. This view provides a good record of the area to the south of Inverness before the building of the Southern Distributor Road and urban development in the first decades of the C21.
