Scope and Content This area is east of Loch Ness. Loch a Coire is in the foreground and Loch Ruthven behind. Between the two is Ballachar settlement with hut circles and burnt mound. There is a possible crannog at both ends of Loch Ruthven, the western one (right in photo) is often submerged. On the S shore of Loch Ruthven (centre flat area) there are many references to settlements and Tom Bhuidhe, a partly artificial knoll.
