Scope and Content At the top of the photo the 11 span arched Bridge over the River Ness is Ness Viaduct built by Joseph MItchell to carry the railway. It was washed away in Feb 1989. The next Bridge is the Waterloo road Bridge or Black Bridge. At the foot of the photo is Friar's Bridge, 1972, a 3 span concrete Bridge taking the A82 over the river Ness. To the right by the roundabout is St Mary's Yard burial ground. The chapel and Dominican Monastery were totally destroyed by Cromwell.
