Scope and Content Written on the back of the mounted print: ‘Shire: Fife. Building: Falkland Town Hall’. Photographer: ‘JP’ Date: ‘9.10.57’ Council-chamber and court-room inside Falkland Town-house (also known as 'Falkland Town Hall'), Fife Falkland Town-house replaced an earlier tolbooth described as 'in indifferent repair'. The architect also won the building contract. The main room on the first floor doubled as a court-room and council-chamber. It has a plaster decorated ceiling and heraldic chimneypiece. The side room was used as a cell and still has its window-grille. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
