Scope and Content Temporary camp at Gallaberry, Dumfries and Galloway This Roman temporary camp lies to the north-west the farm buildings at West Gallaberry. It was built on a gravel terrace, and there are no visible remains on the ground. The layout of the camp can still be seen as cropmarks in this aerial view of the site. It is roughly rectangular on plan, with rounded corners. The site was partially excavated by Professor St Joseph in 1952. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
