Scope and Content Watch tower at Moss Side, Perth and Kinross This Roman watch tower is at Moss Side. When the site was first reported, part of an inner rampart was still visible, but ploughing and cultivation over the years have remove all traces of the tower at ground level. This is an aerial view of the site. The circular ditch of the watch tower can be seen as a dark cropmark in the middle of the image. The entrance to the enclosure can be seen on the right side. The site was excavated around the start of the 20th century by Christison. The four post-holes which held the wooden tower's corner posts were located. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
