Scope and Content Old Edderton Parish Church, Highland Edderton Parish Church was built in 1743, presumably replacing an earlier church on the same site. The former Edderton Parish Church passed to the estate on the building of a new Parish Church prior to 1843. In 1843 it was regarded as derelict and the Balnagown Estate permitted the Free Church to use it, which they did until the 1980s. The Free Church never actually had title to the building which is now in the hands of a local trust. The church is T-shaped with the north aisle (left) forming the upright. The roofless burial-aisle of the Baillies of Rosehall, built 1821, stands at the near (west) end. The mausoleum at the far end is dated 1637 and predates the present church.
