Administrative History John Murray Robertson (1844-1901) worked at first for the Perth architect Andrew Heiton, before setting up his own practice in Dundee in 1873. Active mainly in the Dundee area, his work includes commercial and industrial buildings in the city, and numerous villas in its suburbs, West Ferry and Broughty Ferry. After Robertson's death, the practice was continued by his former draughtsman, James Findlay, and the latter's partners, David Smith, Nelson T Stewart, and Henry Pearce Robbie.
