The Williamsons owned the land at Northfield. Documents dated 1785 - 1832 contained in Unit 12906 Documents dated 1833 - 1852 contained in Unit 12904 Batch includes: Receipts and correspondence referring to Margaret Williamson's debt accrued and board at the Lunatic Asylum, Morningside. Her debt would appear to be payable to Mr John MacAndrew, Junior Solicitor before the Supreme Courts, Edinburgh and Curator Bonis for Margaret Williamson. Insurance policies taken out by Susan and Margaret Williamson with Insurance Company of Scotland on Northfield Cottage.
