Scope and Content Written on the back of the mounted print: 'Shire: Fife. Place: Falkland. Building: 'Church Hall (former U. F. Church)'. Phoographer: 'C H C' Date: 'July 1962' Free Church, New Road, Falkland, Fife The Free Church off New Road was built in 1844-5, shortly after the Great Disruption. The church is built to a simple Gothic plan with a small spired bellcot for the church bell. The Free Church of Scotland was created as a result of the Great Disruption of 1843 when nearly a third of the Church of Scotland's ministers left to form a separate church.
