Scope and Content The report contains the results of an archaeological watching brief undertaken by CFA Archaeology Ltd in April and May 2013 on land at the western corner of Holyrood Road and Viewcraig Gardens, City of Edinburgh. Trial trenching was carried out prior to a student housing development 62 metres west of 98 Holyrood Road. Buildings were identified along the northern side of the site, probably of early-mid 19th-century date, possibly stabling. Only the southernmost wall of the building was identiied, no floor surfaces were identified, but a number of large stone slabs were found in the rubble infill. Later structural remains were brick built ona concrete foundation slab. Commissioned by Balfour Beatty This report consists of 23 pages, comprising 12 pages of text and 11 pages of maps, diagrams and photographs.
