Scope and Content Projects vary from small scale watching briefs for residential developments, desk-based assessments and historic building surveys to large scale excavations and Cultural Heritage Studies for Environmental Impact Assessments. Clients range from leading multinational corporations and government agencies to local government bodies and single partner consultancies. Recent projects have included phase two of the Prestongrange Community Archaeology Project and phases two and three of the Clyde Archaeological Survey, which incorporates a community component in the guise of ‘Shorewatch’.
Archive History Excavation archive material is deposited at RCAHMS by CFA Archaeology Ltd as projects are completed.
System of Arrangement Material is grouped by excavation site and organised roughly in the chronological order by which it was received.

Administrative History CFA Archaeology was formed by Professor Ian Ralston as the Centre for Field Archaeology within the University of Edinburgh in 1990. In 2000 it became independent from the university and began trading as a commercial company under the name of CFA Archaeology Ltd.
Accruals Further accruals are expected on a yearly basis.
