Description Alloa, Whins Road, Brewery View from NNW of brick and concrete four-storey and basement, ten by four bay Barns Block grain handling area. Note railway lines in foreground. Grain originally came in by rail by means of a branch line from the Edinburgh-Stirling Line which ran along the N side of the brewery site. Latterly, grain was brought in by road. The grain is unloaded into the hopper opening visible between the rails (foreground) and is moved by an elevator system up to the top floor of the grain handling area. This building still carries the (painted out) name of the Arrol family who were involved in operating the brewery from 1866 until 1951
