Description Complete framed and panelled door (DP00/146). The upper curve probably follows the camber of the deck above, while the low height of the door—1.44m—suggests that there was a substantial sill beneath it to prevent water entering the cabin during stormy weather. Panel-work of this quality is only likely to have been present in the captain's cabin at the upper stern. Scale 50 centimetres. (Colin Martin)
