Scope and Content Temporary camp at Muirhouses, West Lothian This Roman temporary camp is at Muirhouses in West Lothian. It was identified through aerial photography in 1961. Nothing of the camp is visible at ground level. This is an aerial view of the site. The camp shows up as a cropmark near the middle of the image. The N (lower) side and its two corners are visible, and there is a gateway in the centre. This site may have been a labour camp for the construction of the E end of the Antonine Wall.
