Description Interior. Boiler house. Ash handling area, quench system, conveyor belt. The boiler ash drops through the grates into hoppers and into the water cooling or quench system. The ash is then removed manually from the wet to dry conveyors and out of the building. The effluent water is processed on site. This came into operation in 1953.
