Scope and Content This 32-page report records the research context and data structure of the 2008 trial excavation of the scheduled monument site at the Brough of Deerness, by James Barrett and Adam Slater of the University of Cambridge. It notes it was a long-lived settlement, remarkably well preserved despite target practice shelling during both World Wars. It was the focus of domestic occupation, and a variety of small domestic finds were recovered.
