Date 27/12/1849

Collection Records of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, Edinburgh, Scotland

Scope and Content Thanks Petrie for his communication on Orcadian antiquities and is interested to hear of his proposed contributions to the John o'Groats Journal. Refers to Petrie's paper on District Courts meeting at the Stones of Stenness in 'the Scottish Journal'. Refers to F W L Thomas' work, and to donation of artefacts from the Marquess of Breadalbane. Petrie's in poor health. Asks if he might have Petrie's drawings of the 'Pict's House' engraved for his own purposes (probably Wideford chambered cairn).
