Historic Scotland Archive Project

551 113

Description Historic Scotland Archive Project

Collection Historic Scotland Archive Project

Catalogue Number 551 113

Category All Other

Scope and Content This collection comprises records from archaeological investigations commissioned, funded or part funded by Historic Scotland and its predecessor organisations.

Archive History This collection comprises records created by a diversity of archaeological units and other bodies and individuals. It derives from a tag in a previous, pre-ISAD(G) compliant, cataloguing system used to identify records processed as part of a major Historic Scotland funded cataloguing project (1996-2010), established to clear a backlog of project archives. This collection will gradually be reordered and reduced, as component records are moved to the appropriate individual creator/unit collections (e.g. SUAT, AOC, etc).
