Scope and Content A large collection of office drawings, including: layout of Kelvingrove Park, 1854; Trinity College Church, 1855; Free Church Training College, 1855-6; St John's Episcopal Church, Oban, 1863; Park Circus, Glasgow, 1854; and many designs for churches, public buildings and houses. Also, specifications for buildings designed by Wilson: property on east corner of Adelphi Street and Thistle Street, and shops in Sussex Place for Proprietors of Hutcheson's Hospital, 1838; new toll house at Muir House Toll Bar, 1844.
Archive History The main body of drawings was presented to the Scottish National Building Record in 1954. A collection of specifications was presented in 1970, drawings of Kelvingrove Park layout and country houses in 1971; a watercolour of Lochton Castle was purchased in 1984.
System of Arrangement The collection is arranged by building.

Administrative History Charles Wilson (1810-63) was an architect mostly active in Glasgow and the south-west of Scotland, but who also designed a number of villas for clients in Dundee and Angus.
