Scope and Content This is the report of a walkover survey commissioned by SSE Power Distribution and carried out by Suat Ltd along the route of high voltage power lines on the West coast of the Isle of Lewis, between Aird Uig and Brenish. The power lines existing were to be almost entirely rebuilt; the route crossed a landscape with many known archaeological features. The entire route was walked and five previously unrecorded sites were encountered, including a well, blackhouse and lazybeds at Carnish, embankments at Cappadale, lazybeds and a dyke at Lon Erista, also rig and furrow there, and hut remains at Totarol; as well as numerous features of known sites not hitherto described. The report contains 31 pages and 5 pages of diagrams.
