Scope and Content Recumbent stone circle known as Nine Stanes at Mulloch, Garrol Hill, Aberdeenshire This recumbent stone circle is on Garrol Hill. Its siting is typical for this type of monument and offers views to the S and W. A ring cairn was built inside, against the recumbent. This is a view of the recumbent slab. One of the flanking stones is still standing. The other has fallen down. Six other smaller stones make up the flattened circle. The site was crudely excavated in the 19th century. A little cremated bone was found. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
