(Area : NT 7380 1170) Much signs of activity. Hut circles ?
(Visible on RAF air photographs: 106G/ Scot/ UK 19: 4174-5).
Information from OS recorder (DG) December 1949.
NT 7357 1193. Two circular enclosures, 18.0m overall with spread turf-covered banks almost 4.0m wide by 0.7m high, are almost certainly old sheepfolds similar to many others in the area. There is also evidence of surface quarrying.
There is nothing significant to be seen in the area centred on NT 7380 1170.
Visited by OS (RD), 23 May 1968.
The two enclosures are as described and classified by the previous field investigator. The bank of the southern example has been disturbed in places revealing a primarily earthen content. In the immediate vicinity there are clear remains of rig and furrow and indistinct rectangular footings with which the enclosures are possibly associated.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (JB), 14 October 1979.

Oxnam
This site was recorded as part of the Kale Water Survey project and is largely as described previously on the date of visit.
There are two turf sheepfolds in unimproved pasture on Mill Knowe, about 400m E of South Riccalton steading. Both are now reduced to low ring-banks. Immediately to the N of the sheepfolds there is a length of turf bank which runs from NE to SW for 341m, then curves to the NW for a further 74m (NT 73592 11994 to NT 73277 11860).
Visited by RCAHMS (MFTR) 1 December 1999, with additional information from RCAHMS (BM) 18 June 2012
