(NX 1360 6534) Cairn Kenny (NR) (Site of)
OS 6" map (1957)
The site of an old cairn most of whose stones were removed to build walls about 1807.
Name Book 1847
At this point is a large hollow 21.0m in diameter and 1.0m deep. This appears to be another example of the complete removal of a cairn followed by quarrying of the site.

Visited by OS (JP) 29 April 1976
A robbed cairn is visible in the bottom of a hollow in the peat on the crest of Cairnscarrow, 530m N of the OS triangulation station that marks the summit. The cairn measures about 17m in diameter but little more than a rim of cairn material about 0.3m high and a scatter of stones now survives. On the NNE there is a large block of stone on the perimeter of the cairn. The cairn was reduced to its present state in about 1807.
RCAHMS 1987, visited (SH) 14 May 1985.
