The Roman road is visible as quarry pits in RCAHMS oblique aerial photographs, S of the Old Military Road.

Quarry pits flanking the Roman Road have been recorded as cropmarking on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1978; 1984, 1992, 1993, 1995, 2005), extending 2.2km W from the modern road at Kirminnoch Cottage (NX 12356 58424) to a point (NX 10356 59090) on the NE side of Soulseat Loch. Four separate sections have been recorded as roughly parallel rows of quarry pits. Three sections follow an ESE to WNW trajectory, with the westernmost section turning to the NW as it passes the loch.
