(NT 0896 8726) Dunfermline Abbey - The Frater Range: The original conventual buildings were destroyed by Edward I in 1303. Restoration must have been in progress 1329, as in that year there was a royal contribution towards the erection of the refectory or frater.

The frater had three storeys. The south side is divided into eight bays by lofty buttresses.

RCAHMS 1933.

The building is as described.
