Publication Account (2006)

Carrell Mill (NS 7201 7831; Category B-listed), on the opposite side of the road from the Mill House, has twin stone gables with wagon entrances. There is a stone dated 1700 inset above the keystone of one of the wagon entrances. Two other stones carry the dates 1774 and 1808. A testament by John Napier, under-miller at 'Gorbalrnill, parish of Kilsyth' is dated 1671 and demonstrates the earlier origins of the mill.

Information from ‘The Scottish Burgh Survey, Historic Kilsyth: Archaeology and Development’ (2006).
