Activities

Desk Based Assessment (16 August 2017)

Nothing now remains of a leading light that was located on the North West Pier at the entrance to James Watt Dock, which was built between 1878 and 1886. It is first depicted on the OS 1:1250 plan of 1965 (NS2975NW – A) and annotated Leading Light ‘Fixed White’. At that time another Leading Light (NS27NE 31.03) was situated on the opposite side of the entrance.

Information from HES Survey and Recording (AMcC) 16 August 2017.
