In 1850 the entrance to this harbour was deepened by almost two feet with the aid of a small dredging-machine.

The harbour is visible on the aerial photograph of Ardrishaig from SE and the harbour square is shown on a close-up photograph.

At the harbour is a round-ended pier (NR88NE 33.02) flanking the canal entrance and modern navigational lights (NR88NE 33.01) at the end of this breakwater.

RCAHMS 1992.

The harbour is clearly visible on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire 1873, sheet clxx), on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire 1900, sheet clxxNE), on the current edition of the OS 10000 map (1981) and on the OS 1:10000 raster map (ND).
