Mill of Mundurno (PH) [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1990.

(Location cited [incorrectly] as NJ 957 1250). Mill of Mundurno, 19th century. A well-preserved T-plan mill, with projecting kiln with Aberdeenshire vent with pig vane. There is a 6-spoke, wood-and-iron overshot wheel, 30ins (0.76m) wide by 13ft 8ins (4.16m) diameter, with arms designed for an 11ft (3.35m) diameter wheel.

Site Management (29 January 2020)

Early 19th century, L-plan mill with additional wing. Rubble-built, dressed stone on wheel wall. Overshot wheel with timber lade bringing water. Loft space in upper storey. Machinery in situ. Later timber lean-to of no interest. Straight skews, slate roof.
