Archaeology Notes

NJ90NW 81 9437 0612

For Aberdeen Harbour (centred NJ 95 05), see NJ90NE 7.00.

For excavated flints, see NJ90NW 82.

(Location cited as NJ 943 061). Excavation by C M Brookes in 1974 revealed a stone-built late medieval harbour wall of at least two phases. The major harbour works were nearer the present Trinity Quay allowing infill (containing pottery of the late 15th and 16th century pottery) which was in turn overlain by cobbled surfaces, hearths and drains.

(Location of finds not stated).

NMRS, MS/712/83.
