'B' has outer wall facing stones evident round the perimeter giving an overall diameter of 16.0m. The wall is spread to c. 3.0m. The 'simple' entrance in the SE is mutilated.

'C' is the same size as 'A'. The 'simple' entrance is in the E and is c. 3.0m wide. Although both wall faces can be seen giving a wall thickness of 1.8m. the spread of wall is c. 4.0m.

'D' is oval and measures c. 9.0m from the NW through the 'simple' entrance in the SE by c. 8.0m transversely between the centres of a wall spread to c. 2.5m.

Field Visit (March 1979)

Aigas1 NH453411 NH44SE 4

An unenclosed settlement with field-system occupies an area of about 10ha 400m NE of Oldtown of Aigas. There are two stone-walled houses measuring about 6.2m and 10.8m respectively in internal diameter and also two larger enclosures measuring 17.5m and 16m respectively within walls built of large boulders; both enclosures have entrances in the SE arcs, and their interiors appear to rise slightly towards the centre. In the vicinity of these structures there are a number of large dykes and lesser field divisions with extensive traces of stone clearance over the whole area. About 150m S of the southernmost enclosure the OS have recorded two more houses.
