Archaeology Notes

ND49SW 19.01 40328 93095 and 40313 93062

Two shuttered concrete gun-emplacements are situated immediately SW of the observation posts (ND49SW 19.02). Both emplacements have semi circular concrete canopies supported by steel beams. Some corrugated iron sheeting has been used in the shuttering process.

The gun pit is surrounded by a low concrete wall and the holdfast is extant positoned centrally within the wall.

Both emplacements are identical in design and both have small concrete magazines to the S.

Entrance is from the rear and stone revetting has been used in this area to support the earth where the slope has been excavated into.
